There is something about the Regency era that never truly fades.
Perhaps it’s the elegance, the ritual of dressing, or the quiet romance of promenades and candlelit assembly rooms.
Whatever the reason, Regency style continues to enchant – and lately, it feels very much in the air again.
With the buzz surrounding the new Bridgerton series this month, interest in all things Regency has blossomed once more.
Each new season brings a fresh wave of inspiration, and with it, a renewed love for feathered headpieces, delicate fans, and those small but transformative accessories that complete a historical look.
New Headpieces, Added Weekly
Over the coming weeks, I’ll be adding new Regency-inspired headpieces to the collection regularly, in a growing range of colours and finishes.
Soft pastels, romantic florals, classic whites and ivories, and richer jewel tones will all be making an appearance – each designed to sit high on the head in true Regency plume style.
These pieces are historically influenced but adapted for modern wear: lightweight, comfortable, and easy to secure, whether for a full costume or a more subtle nod to period styling.
If you’re planning ahead for:
-
Regency balls
-
Promenades and historical festivals
-
Jane Austen events and book-inspired gatherings
-
Themed weddings or photoshoots
…it’s a lovely time to start browsing and choosing something that feels uniquely you.
The Return of the Ostrich Feather Fan
Perhaps the most exciting revival, though, is the return of something many long-time followers may remember: the ostrich feather fan.
Over ten years ago, these fans were some of my most popular creations – dramatic, romantic, and wonderfully theatrical.
Over time, they quietly slipped away from the collection… but now, they are being resurrected and reimagined.
Ostrich feather fans were not just accessories in the Regency period – they were social tools.
Used for flirtation, conversation, and quiet theatre, they added movement and presence to any outfit.
There is something irresistibly performative about them: a gentle swish, a soft cloud of feathers, a moment of glamour that feels both historical and timeless.
Their return feels especially fitting now, as more people embrace immersive historical events and dressing as an experience, not just a costume.
Dressing for the Romance of It All
One of the joys of Regency styling is that it invites you to slow down.
To think about detail, to choose something because it feels beautiful, not because it’s practical or modern.
Whether you’re preparing months in advance for a grand ball, or simply dreaming of a future promenade in muslin and feathers, these accessories are designed to add a little romance, a little fantasy, and a quiet sense of ceremony to modern life.
And in a world that often feels very fast, that feels like something worth dressing up for.
